Walls freshly painted in a lovely and bright Tuscan plaster faux finish with Benjamin Moore's sunny "Nacho Cheese" above and rich brown "Eggplant" below. New white, high-contoured chair rail adds a stunning contrast to colours and completes the vintage look.

New laminate flooring in unstained "maple." Trimmed with new white moldings and window trim.

A south-facing window lets in plenty of daylight and has a lovely view of the several maple trees outside. Completed with white fabric "Japanese" blinds which let in a glow of soft light from outside.

Where a poorly functioning closet once stood is now an open alcove with attractive shelving. Three 7-foot wide wood shelves [21 linear feet in total] are finished in the rich eggplant and held up with ornamental black wrought iron brackets. The shelving is ideal for displaying books, artwork and decorative items.

One or two chests of drawers fit nicely under the alcove shelving. A writing desk allows for a bedroom office. Or add more luxury with a divan or love seat. The space creates many flexible options.

Unique Features

Stained Glass Window:

High quality custom-made 17" x 23" stained glass window (lead came) on west wall in mostly iron cobalt blue and shades of emerald. The blue creates a marvelous contrast with the yellow walls. The charming butterfly pattern on the foreground is easily visible from the outside street as this window is positioned above the street numbers at the front of the home.

The piece receives many compliments from passers-by. Fern-like "glue chip" glass in the background [which is also incorporated in the kitchen and other stained glass] lets in the golden evening light at sunset.

Ceilings:

No boring boxy, square rooms in this house! Each upstairs room in the home features a distinctive angled ceiling. The master bedroom's ceiling is lofty, reaching a height of over 9 feet at its peak. Walls join at intriguing and creative angles, making this home a treat for the eyes.
