Cabinetry

Gorgeous new custom high quality wood cabinets make this incredible and beautiful kitchen. Natural maple with satin finish cabinets from Mi-Tec [Salmon Arm custom cabinet makers] add tremendous value to the room.

Nearly 19 linear feet of upper cabinetry and over 14 linear feet of bottom cabinetry/drawers! Loads of storage and space for people who love to cook and entertain.

Shaker-style doors: top doors have classic arch routed design, bottom doors in clean rectangular look. Show off your wine glasses and china in four upper cabinet doors flanking the sink and window, which are adorned with decorative "fern-patterned" glue chip glass. The glass exactly matches the glass in the stained glass window in the adjacent dining room.

Spacious 3' x 5.5' breakfast peninsula allows for up to 3 barstool chairs. The owners used the area for teatime, crafts/sewing, homework and preparing meals seated. A large (10 cubic feet) deep cabinet beneath is a great place to keep family games or other items needed in the dining room.

Brushed steel knobs, hidden hinges. Fully extendable, heavy duty slides on large drawers for easy access. Strong metal integrated clip-in shelf adjusters in cabinets allow for customizing the space.

Both bottom corner cabinets contain convenient double spinning shelves for easy access to all contents.

Real finished maple trim around countertop, back splash, crown moldings and baseboards. Arborite countertop (over 20 feet) in classy neutrals will not limit future owners from changing the colours on the walls. Anything will match nicely.

Appliances

All appliances are new and very clean.

New All-Fridge: White. Large fridge with tempered glass shelving for easy clean-up. Energy-star compliant. Extra trays included. [Note the matching upright All-Freezer is located close by in the adjacent laundry room]

New smooth-top range/Convection Oven: White. Black smooth top with four cooking elements (large element has extra ring) and warming zone. Wonderful convection oven with digital timer mode, light and other handy features including self-clean oven and programmable baking start and end times. The smooth-top design also doubles as a meal prep area and adds to the already ample countertop space.

New Dishwasher: White. Various modes and cleaning cycles. All trays included.

New Range Hood Microwave: White. Space-saving large microwave with many features doubles as range hood for improved ventilation and lighting. Glass circular tray is dishwasher-safe.

Fixtures

The new double basin stainless steel sink has a new single-handed chrome faucet with low-flow (eco-friendly) aerator option.

Drop-ceiling features new tiles and two large full-spectrum lighting panels (8 bulbs). No winter blues in this kitchen!

Jazzy pendant mood lighting over sink and peninsula area: Three fixtures are in artsy "Starbuck-esque" cobalt blue and white patterned glass, one is bottle-shaped tangerine orange glass with funky red swirls. All compact fluorescent bulbs for energy efficiency.

Walls & Floors

Walls freshly painted in Benjamin Moore's incredible red "Louisiana Hotsauce" (pearl finish).

Quality vinyl flooring in realistic tile pattern has many guests convinced it is true tile. This floor is far easier to keep clean and maintain and is far safer than slippery, cold hard tile in a kitchen.

White window trim.

5-double electrical outlets in counter area alone plus 2 more on the stove makes plugging in appliances convenient from anywhere in the kitchen.

Windows

Large window above the sink on south-facing wall lets in plenty of daylight. A deep sill is ideal for plants or decorations. Completed with white fabric "Roman" blinds.

Storage

Beside the oven is a special pan-drawer for easy storage of large cookie sheets. The oven also features a special pull-out drawer for convenient storage of pots and pans. The panel in front of the sink doubles as a drawer for convenient storage of sponges, drain stoppers, etc.

If the cabinetry didn't have enough room, there is a spacious pantry in the adjoining rear hallway just behind the fridge. The floor to ceiling pantry is deep and has just been completed with full-length doors in matching maple.

There is also plenty of cabinet space in the laundry room around the corner [where the upright freezer is located].

Unique Features

The owners found the design of this kitchen to be incredibly efficient for space and multiple "cooks" in the kitchen.

One of two hook-ups for the central vacuum are located in the kitchen for easy and fast clean-up.
